Google launches mobile data manager app Datally in India

Google launches mobile data manager app Datally in India

Accelerating its Next Billion Users program, Google has launched Datally, a mobile data manager that will help you monitor, save, and gain control of your data in India.
The app lets users track and control app data usage and allow them to turn on or off data while using any particular app. The development was first reported by Factordaily.
Earlier, it launched payment app Tez in September while food delivery and home services focused app Areo made debut in India in April this year.
Datally also helps users to find public Wi-Fi near and displays them. Before connecting, one can see how other Datally users have rated the Wi-Fi network. Users can rate the experience so that it becomes useful for other users.
The app was tested for the last 3-4 months in the Philippines and nearly “half a million users,” have saved about 30% of mobile data, mentions report. Soon, Datally will also integrate balance checking and expiration reminders along with proactive data usage warnings and controls.

Next Billion Users Initiative by Google in India

Google’s Next Billion Users program is focused on helping the non-English speaking population in emerging markets, primarily in India. The program is led by Caesar Sengupta with a team of about 120 people spread across Hyderabad, Zurich, and Singapore
With this app, Google is targeting to attract users from data conscious countries like India, the Philippines, and Nigeria. This is the third app launched by Google in India in recent time. In an attempt to fuel usages by data-conscious Indians, Google also launched YouTube offline and YouTube Go.
Google also launched free Wi-Fi service at railway stations in India in January 2016. So far, it has connected over 400 Indian Railways stations with high speed Internet service.
As of now, Google has seven products Maps, Youtube, Chrome, Search, Playstore and Android, which have more than a billion users. However, the company believes it can attract the next billion users by providing specific in countries like India.
